The following information is found on the Internet and is useful information to parents who are looking for details regarding the make up of the Iowa Test of Basic Skills and the Iowa Test of Educational Development. o ITBS is for grades 3-8, and is recorded as Levels 9 through 14. o ITED is for grade 9, and is recorded as Level 15. The following is the process for finding the information on the Iowa Tests.
To find information about the 9 th grade test, Level 15, back out to “Products A-Z” and click on Iowa Test of Educational Development and repeat the steps shown above. Levels other than 9 through 15 are not used in testing home school students. Parents have asked about practice tests. In the Directions Manual, Riverside Publishing* states that each test in the ITBS and ITED batteries for Levels 9-15 begins with one or more sample questions to give students some practice with the content and the format of the test. Riverside further states that extensive experience with testing students in grades 3-9 indicates that no further practice is need for most students to understand what to do. Furthermore, the sample items represent the only kind of “practice” that students in the norm group received. *Riverside Publishing is the publisher of the ITBS/ITED, and they are also responsible for scoring and producing the test results report that is sent to students' parents/guardians. |
